Mother's Day Mom
By: Baby Dragon
My dearest Sharon, as I pen these lines to you,
The sweet scent of lilacs fills the room,
A gentle breeze, a fragrance to ensue,
I'm transported to our garden in bloom.
I remember our walks, hand in hand,
Through fields of vibrant wildflowers,
You taught me their names with colors so grand,
As we reveled in the beauty for hours.
I recall the taste of warm cookies,
Straight out of the oven, made with care,
The aroma of cinnamon from those goodies,
Filling the kitchen, floating in the air.
And in my mind's eye, I see you,
A picture of grace and elegance,
With your hair like spun gold a new,
Your eyes, pools of love and benevolence.
You're the one who always knew,
Just how to make things right,
With your soothing touch and your voice so true,
Like a soothing balm in the night.
On this day, dear Mother of mine,
As I honor you with this poem,
I hope these words convey my love divine,
And the gratitude that fills my home.
So my dear Sharon, Happy Mother's Day,
May the love and joy you give,
Come back to you a thousand-fold,
For as long as you shall live.
